After 19 years working with IBM with various roles of project management, sales, education and as a first line manager, Mike found his ultimate dream job as a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Realty in Longmont, CO where he was born and raised and was licensed working part time in May of 2013. This venture not only allowed him the freedom to support the military as an enlisted member but also help military Veterans find homes. Mike became a full time Agent in October and spent his first 12 months in real estate as an independent agent project planning his long term goals in this business, rather than just selling homes. He knew that he wanted to do more than just help buyers, sellers, and investors complete their next journey; he wanted to help other agents become successful and build lives worth living and he did just that throughout the coming years.

As you may have noticed in 2013, it was a slow start to Mike’s real estate career. He took the time to build systems, learn the models, and educate himself on all things real estate related. In February of 2014, Mike closed his first 2 deals and that’s when things started to take off for him. The effort he had put in during the last 12 months was finally paying off and in March he closed another 2 deals, and then another 2, and then 4, etc. By the end of the year, he had averaged 2-3 closings per month (your average agent closes 6 per year) for a total of 28 deals, $7mil in sales volume, and hired some rockstar leverage to help propel him forward in 2015. This leverage included his wife, Traci, to handle all things administrative and his son, Justin, to handle all things lead generation based – mostly Facebook as that is where Mike got most of his business from. This is where the family-owned and family-oriented mindset of the business came from, and it has been the foundation ever since.

The year the “Mike Nelson Team” was founded. Mike was overwhelmed with how many families he had the opportunity to help buy, sell, or invest in real estate and he knew it was time to bring on another agent to help him provide top notch value and service to his clients. He also knew that this would be the stepping stone into his long-term goals of helping other agents build lives worth living. With the immense support of his wife and son, Mike and his buyer’s agent were able to increase their sales year over year and close out with $10mil in sales volume. Mike said, “we can do more” (of course he did.. he’s a visionary) so Traci helped him refine their systems and processes even more in order to continue this growth model.

As a visionary, Mike couldn’t help but to focus on other streams of real estate he could hone in on and refine his leadership skills, since he knew that the systems and processes he had worked on building in the previous years were proven to work at an efficient and effective level. At Keller Williams, agents are provided with so many opportunities to grow and he took advantage of that to the fullest . Due to the perfect set of circumstances, Mike was given the chance to run the local Keller Williams Market Center as an Interim Operating Principle. Since he had the leverage with his wife, buyer’s agent, and son who also became an agent of the Mike Nelson Team, he was able to show many agents and staff what he was truly capable of while maintaining the daily operations of the Market Center during this year. Mike and the team closed out the year with $15mil in sales volume and the growth continued.

Knowing that he wanted to help others build lives worth living since his start in real estate, Mike decided that now was a good time to continue the growth of the organization at large since he had 3-4 years of solid experience in building the Mike Nelson Team and agents around him. He brought on an administrative assistant, Brooke, to allow his wife, Traci, more time to take care of the business finances and home life which falls in line with his motto – God, Family, and Business. The role of this new assistant was to build systems and processes in order to allow for an expansion model in the coming year. As a future key leader in the organization, this hire was considered Mike’s “right hand” and they continued to build the Mike Nelson Team and eventually, the Integrity Home Group Network. Mike and the team increased the business to $20mil in sales volume and loved every minute of it.

The foundation was built, the organization model within Keller Williams was followed, and it was time to think bigger, aim higher, and see just how far we could go. The Integrity Home Group expansion network was founded when the first expansion location was created in Colorado Springs, CO. We were able to find the perfect fit for the team’s newest business with an agent who had 12+ years of experience as a REALTOR® and embodied our mission, vision, values, and perspectives to the fullest. This new location created immense opportunities and excitement as the launch pad for our future expansion growth model. Integrity Home Group and The Mike Nelson Team ended the year with $33mil in sales volume which was the biggest increase year over year since the beginning.

During this year, the team spent time refining systems and processes with our first expansion location in Colorado Springs while maintaining our production in Longmont. We knew that we wanted to quickly expand to even more locations throughout Colorado, and we also wanted to ensure that we did it correctly in order to make it sustainable. With that said, we went on the hunt for more talent in order to continue providing the same if not better value to our agents and clients as our “think bigger” mentality got even bigger. We hired a Transaction Coordinator, promoted our current administrative assistant to a Director of Operations, and opened two more locations in North Denver, CO and Arvada, CO with more to follow soon after. As a common trend throughout the years, Mike wanted to do more so he engrained himself into additional opportunities that Keller Williams had to offer. He became a MAPS coach where he was able to mentor other real estate agents across the Nation while also coaching the team members within Integrity Home Group and The Mike Nelson Team. Throughout this year, we made massive strides and it was shown to the real estate community through an award we received ranking us in the top 1% of more than 1.4 million REALTORS® nationwide. Mike and the network closed out the year with $43mil in sales volume and many families helped in securing their next journey.

Knowing that we now had the systems and processes in place, we kept growing and at a very fast pace in 2020 in order to take market share. This was the “growth” year for Integrity Home Group Network. We expanded into 6 more locations to include South Denver, CO, Nashville, TN, Fort Collins, CO, Phoenix, Arizona, Pueblo, CO, and finally, Las Vegas, NV. In addition, we hired a Listing Manager, 2 more Transaction Coordinators, and a Marketing Specialist to help excel our business and refine our specialties. With a few bumps in the road like any good business and a lot of success, we ended the year in 10 locations total, closing 208 units, $79mil in sales volume and found our path to becoming a $2,000,000+ organization. This accomplishment once again awarded us with the Real Trends recognition of being in the top 1% of more than 1.4 million REALTORS® nationwide. In addition, we were provided with the prestigious Millionaire Real Estate Award by Keller Williams putting us in line with the best of the best in the business.
